Llucmajor
Llucmajor is the largest municipality of Mallorca. Where in 1349 took place the battle known as “Batalla Llucmajor“, where Jaume III was killed by Pedro IV of Aragon, ending an independent kingdom.
This region is one of the less touristic concurred municipalities, only a 13 kilometres’ drive from the Airport of Mallorca, but also close to some of the most beautiful beaches on the island.
The perfect place for those who are looking for a traditional rural town, but that also want to be close to Palma and the turquoise Mediterranean waters.
Cala Pi
Cala Pi is one of the less tourist developed towns in the municipality of Llucmajor. Only a five-minute drive to Capcorb Velldrive, one of the most important prehistoric towns in Mallorca, where five talayots remain.
The perfect place for those who are seeking for a quiet and relaxing holiday in a Mediterranean atmosphere.
Ses Salines
Ses Salines is a small municipality between Campos and Santanyí. The name means “source of salt”, and was named this way due to the high production of salt by the Romans.
This area has a very rich history, where the Bronze Age left many historical monuments, such as the Talayots from the 9th century BC and the oldest Salinas in the island.
An ideal area only 43km from Palma, for anyone who is looking for a quiet place surrounded by the Mallorcan traditional atmosphere.
Colonia de Sant Jordi
Colonia de Sant Jordi is part of the municipality of Ses Salines, where the second oldest Salinas (4th century BC) in the world are located.
This area is the ideal holiday resort to buy a holiday home, where there is a great offer of beautiful beaches such as: Es Caragol, Es Carbó and Ses Roquetes. Only 3 kilometres from the famous beach Es Trenc.
Santanyí
Santanyí is a municipality of eleven towns, among the ones we find: Cala Llombards, Cala Figuera, Cala d’Or and es cap des Moro. One of the theories about the meaning of its name, says that it is Latin and means “lamb saint”.
As most towns in the Balearic Island, its economy mainly depends on tourism, but in Santanyí another very important income is the extraction of Santanyí stone, not only appreciated in Mallorca but also outside, a stone that has been used for the construction of buildings such as the Cathedral, Castell Bellver among other important buildings.
Cala d’Or
Cala d’Or is the first touristic urbanisation in Mallorca, by the artist “Picarol”, in the thirties. But before this, “Picarol” had previously bought some land close to Formentor, but the establishment of a hydroplane base in the area cancelled his plans to create a summer urbanisation.
“Picarol” at first named the area “Cala d’Hort”, just like the beach he considered most beautiful in Ibiza. But when he saw that the locals pronounced it as Cala d’Or, it ended adopting this name.
At present, Cala d’Or englobes a group of towns: Cala Petita, Cala Ferrera, Cala Esmeralda, Cala Serena and Cala Gran. A region where to enjoy an amazing summer on its beautiful beaches.
Felanitx
Felanitx is the second most important municipality of wine production in Mallorca. Despite being a town with not a lot of tourist affluence, many events take place during the year here. A region that stands out for its emblematic building Castell de Santueri and traditional dance “Els Cavallets”.
An ideal location for those who are looking to live an authentic traditional Mallorcan life, in a rural town where most residents are locals.
